The theme for NYC 21 is From the Group Up: Youth as the Cornerstone People-Centered Development.

Given the unique timing of NYC 21, there is an opportunity to underscore the idea that active citizenship begins long before voting age. This iteration seeks to empower the country’s future leaders to become changemakers, particularly by fostering awareness on the power of good governance at the grassroots level, as well as cultivating civic consciousness that will empower the youth to think critically and develop solutions that serve the country.

NYC 21 will be held on March 22-24, 2025 at the UP School of Economics.

NYC’s headline competition, the SMART Idea Pitch Competition aims to harness the youth’s creativity and innovation in addressing the relevant issues of today’s society. This year’s SMART competition will involve a preliminary round, where schools will be tasked to submit an idea proposal online prior to the Congress, and a final round, where the top ten (10) schools from the preliminary round will compete face to face in a winner-takes-all pitch presentation.
